Right now I am working on Elebits, close to the end. I recently beat WarioWare: Smooth Moves and The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. Also I play Super Mario 64 and Super Mario Sunshine off and on. And I recently got Hotel Dusk - Room 215 for the DS. I only really play my DS while traveling though.

I would recommend all those games previously mentioned.

I recently got my mits on Phoenix Wright, Ace Attorney for the DS. I love it. And I tried Excite Truck for the Wii not too long ago, I recommend it myself.

I got Wii Play for the extra controller. They're simple games. Pretty fun because of all the Miis though.

I think you'd have hours of fun playing it with your daughter. Kids absolutely love Wii Play.

and I'm thinking of picking up Excite Truck tomorrow. I feel a craving for a good racer! Most of the ET reviews are saying it's a better rental than a purchase, but it's not like I have many options for racing games on the Wii right now.
