Ok, a friend of mine just gave me his old DS after upgrading to a DS lite, however, the thing has a charging problem. He dropepd it on a concrete floor, and now the battery won't charge, he got his DS lite a few days after, and the DS battery died. The main problem is, it won't charge, it won't even turn on if plugged in. I opened it up, looked at the battery and the contacts, and those seem fine, and I can't open it to have a look since i don't have the right screw driver. has anyone had this happen before and knowwhat to do?

Wow, that's got to suck... I suggest sending it off to Nintendo for repairs and whatnot. Also, it goes to show that the hand strap is more than just a decoration.

I know. Sad part is I lack the resources to send it into Nintendo, so I'm going to take it to Gamestop, trade it in along with some of my older N64 games, and get a used refurbished machine hopefully along with a game. And I learned about the thumb stylus.
