Must have lost it/contaminated it/fabricated it/etc. They could still just hold him in guantanamo bay indefinately for no reason.

They could, how about imprisionment for lieing about having an involvement in the murder case. That has to warrent some sort of punishment. I would seriously order a mental eval on this guy. If he failed it, lock him away in a mental ward for the remainder of his natural life. This guy is seriously sick in the head, it is only a matter of time before he actually kills someone.

The pornography case fell apart almost as quickly, as investigators admitted losing vital computer evidence that was seized from Karr in April 2001 when he was working as a substitute teacher in Sonoma and Napa counties.
O.o how in the **** do you lose something so important!? I would fire those who lost the evidence, because of them a sick pedophile gets to walk and who knows if he will finally strike and rape/kill a little girl. Just by looking at him, you can tell this guy is not in sound mind.

I think it went something like this.....
Napa Valley GOP guy: we hear you have some evidence on Karr. He's one of ours. It would be a great inconvience to the party if this material ever came to light.
Napa Police: that might be but we will persue this, the man is a potential threat to society!
GOP: yeah, yeah...ya know, there's a lot of them out there. I bet it costs a lot of money to catch and prosecute all those criminals. Funny thing about budgets is, we can increase your budget, or if we don't have enough resources, we might have to cut you budget. I think you understand.
