Now, this is upsetting...

According to the February issue of Game Informer, 77% of non-gamers believe that it is appropriate to ban certain video games, according to a recent survey.

77% of NON gamers. That sounds about right. One part ignorance, 2 parts of bad media.

I should have my GI issue sitting in my mailbox now.

77% is pretty good, actually. More then enough to crush free speech and create a secret police.

I stopped paying attention to polls. I could poll from an entirly valid and broad enough group and get a 90% approval rating for president Bush. I could poll in retard states and get an 85% endorsement for gay marriage.

It just depends on who you ask.

Polls aren't something that are terriblly reliable; and government censorship is hardly an answer in any case.

Personally I'm an advocate of doing what's right. Just because a person has the right to say or make something, in no way means that they are right in doing so. Its knowing the difference and having both the wisdom and common sense to act upon that knowledge that makes a person. Ban certain games, not at all. Actively engage in debate over why some games are made, that I'd support in a heartbeat.

It doesn't matter what people think. They're still not going to be able to do it. Ever.

By the way, if this poll had been done in the 80's, and the issue was banning "p0rn rock," and they only surveyed people who didn't listen to rock n' roll, they'd probably get very similar results.

You had a typo so I fixed it. Really if you word the right question in the right way you could get Pat Robertson to support Gay Marriage.
