So has anyone played this at all? I picked it up just yesterday, and it did alot better than the reviews believed it did. My main gripes are with the complete lack of collision, be it from two ships going head on or pieces of debris floating through each other as if the other piece didn't exist (And they exploded so prettily, too). The story is well written, the controls are actually pretty easy to get the hang of.

I heard that Fallout 3 would be set in a post-apocalyptic North America and set after the previous Fallout titles. This gives a different approach than the previously rumoured story that would take place far in the future, focusing on the "federation of planets" which combines multiple species into a single coalition dedicated to exploring the universe and maintaining peace within society, which is actually the storyline of Star Trek, the game this thread is about.

I'm never a good judge of AI, but I didn't notice any real problems. Although it's not an RTS in the sense that WC3 is an RTS; I'd more describe it as a Real-Time Space Sim Strategy. You can control either of your 4 ships, and the other 3 are given orders of where to go and what to do. You can also split your fleet into multiple groups, so two can head one way, one can head another and the final one can stay where it is. The only problem with this is that if you don't give a ship a specific order, it'll usually float idle or attack something nearby. Also, giving orders on the tactical map isn't always useful, because it only covers a 2D space (And we live in this damned 3D one).

I like it myself, the feel of those massive ships moving around blasting eachother to ribbions is pretty neat. My only complaint in truth is some of the levels are Insanely hard to finish.

I'll put it to you like this is the AI tricky enough to keep up with you?

I’ve been seriously looking at getting this game, but the reviewers have been posting seriously negative reviews. It actually looks really cool. It’s good to hear someone say something good about the game.

Thanks for the positive comments guys!
