What? You were expecting anything else? Microsoft is losing money on their sales already, they can't sacrifice anymore with the Wii and PS3 coming, which will probably separate the Next Gen market so much it won't even be funny.

I thinks things are about the same as the were before even with the new stuff on the new systems the WII will be loved and hated like the GC,the 360 will still have MS fans all hot and bothered and the PS3 will rain in both games and graphical power but be held back by its price ,so more opel will go 360 as a step in the next gen direction.

I could have sworen the 360 was getting one this year oh well not like I have 500 to kill dead.

Recently, a few photos have popped up on the Internet of a very interesting change in Microsoft's latest console, the Xbox 360. From what inside sources say, the next generation of consoles to come out of Redmond will feature a true HDMI port on the back of the newest version, codenamed Zephyr. This HDMI port will give the 360 the much needed capability of true digital 1080p support. Aside from this, further updates include a cooler 65nm processor, and a new 120Gb hard drive.

----------------

New CPU,mobo maybe HD oh ya and HDMI....I bet revision 3 in a year or 2 will have the HD DVD drive in it as well 0-o

Don't believe it until MS actually announces it.

Prices are expected to remain the same on the console to keep the competition with Sony and Nintendo stiff, and these changes are expected to hit the shelves soon. No official word has been released yet, however.

I'm curious, though. Why does it need so much space? I understand why the PS3 and Wii would need the space, with the downloadable past gen games and all, but why the 360?

You can buy movies on the Marketplace now.

Remember MS is using a prioritory hardware/frimware for the HDD thus you cant simply add your own,and the movies range from 2-7GB you have TV shows as well, add demos and such at 200MB-1GB its just makes senses to add a large HD because unlike sonys the 360 HDD is set in stone for now.

Also remember the 360 uses 3-6GB of that 20GB disk just for OS and patches, xbx emu and stuff so 120 is a obvious choice to meet basic demands and for the future, since 120=114 take away the OS needs maybe you can get 105GB for save games, demo, movie, music storage.

At this time the 120HDD is a "in the works" add on
however HDMI and the new CPU as well as motherboard revision are "done".

No, as of right now they are rumors. They have not been officially announced. No sources are quoted and the image:

true true, but it seems allot of other places say the 360 is capable of HDMI it just needs a adapter so its possible, and it would be a good move on MS's part might suck for early adapotrs but I can see MS bringing out new models once every 1-3 years I can so easily see a 360 with HDVD 120+GB HD and HDMI by 011,doing it this way they never have to reduce the price of the console.

I can see integrating the HDDVD drive and making it gameplay-disc capable to meet the PS3's capacity. But until they actually make a public announcement to that effect it doesn't matter.

Don't have sauce for it, but MS said the pics floating around are of an engineering demo.

In other words, something they were playing around with but isn't even a prototype yet.

Precisely. Maybe it was leaked because the engineers wanted to prove to Sony engineers they could have made a ps3-like system as well.

Microsoft won't make an official announcement this soon into development but the evidence is definitely mounting up. :)

It's still just an engineering department toy, so stop acting like it's a big deal until there is an official announcement from Microsoft. There's no point getting excited about something that may never be released. I remember back when, 6 months before release, Sony was saying the PS2 would ship with a hard drive and network adapter. The first one never happened outside of an add-in, and the second one more than 4-5 years later when the miniaturized version was released.

That does it, I'm gonna trade my fattie ps2 for a skinny. I'm sick of it and its useless HDD that SONY refuses to support.

Isn't there only the one game that really works with it, and they don't even let you save to it, beyond archives?

Yup, and even socom which saves some files to the HDD requires patches to be saved on a memory card. I'm going to use a usb drive to archive my saves (with action replay).

have you tried the HD loader?
is it any good I wodner.

BTW the SLIM PS2s hate USB devices they are 20X more fickle about supporting the since Sony change the USB setup in the PS2 revisions,I sold my old PS2 flip top with swap magic and a game con pad and accseroies and 1 mem card for 155,I am rebuilding a PS2 V9 to try and avoiding getting a slim line....

What do you really need to plug into a PS2 though? There are three that come to mind:
Keyboard, for online games like FFXI and PSU.
Headset for games like SOCOM.
Eyetoy.

USB drive to transfer cheat device codes and saves and settings,as well as play with the system a bit.

you are not disabled either.

you know you can rebalanced a game and make it harder...override their need this other game to unlock extra feature BS and other neat lil things.....so don't be ignorant.

A loser who doesn't like to backup his saves. BURN!

In all seriousness, that's what I've used my action replay for.

HDloader, I would rather not fool around with.

INFERNO! ^0^ mmm so witch console is your Royalty? :P

They make USB HDD boxs for the PS2 slims but in all a 1 or 2 GB usb drive is all you would ever need for saves. I'd trust it more than a HDD 0-o
I was wondering if HD loader would have any better archiving/tools and such but I guess between a code break and AR max you wouldn't need much..I still have yet to figure out how to update the AR max >< ...oh wait...install PC software....so thats how it done 0_o

From the fact that stores are now creating a new SKU for it, it seems more realistic. Though since it's nearly 100 more than the full version, It'll likely just be added to current stock instead of replacing.

well when they release the 120 HDD as a upgrade unit for under 120$ there is no need to jump to the new version just yet, unless you just have to have HDMI.

if you have a glitch free 360 it should last a year or 2 if its well cooled.

a 120GB HDD for only $20 more than the 20GB may be what convinces me that the core model is a good idea.

a 120GB HD for only $20 more than the 20BG may be what convinces me that the core model is a good idea.

Unless I can get a core for under 200 I am not going to fool with the fickle hardware issue's of the 360 model 1.

the 20GB HDD kit is 50-90 lest these are the prices I have seen.

a sata 120HD would be under 100 I know that much knowing MS they will have to make firmware for it and lock the drive down that will add a bit to it but I don't really seeing it going over 120. 99 would be a good price for it...
