Scroll down.
The Sun-Times has had some coverage and a few letters bitching about the law, but nothing huge. This isn't huge either (On the back page of the Weekender section), but I guess it's nice to know mainstream press knows about the money wasting he did.
Discuss.

actually, Guv Blago's fiasco with the money made mainstream news in a bunch of papers up there. Search his name on the main GP site and you'll get quite a list.
I think the choice of the Guv as villain of the year by the Sun-Times is a bad one, and strictly a home-town thing. First, the law was a 2005 deal, passed and trashed by December 05. Yes, a minor appeal on part of the bill had to be resolved in 06, but still...
If you had to select the person who caused the most problems for games in 06, I'd be looking to sunnier climes.

I live right outside of Chicago, and it actually got little press. The Sun-Times, as I said, covered in once or twice. The most beyond the game zone I recall was a news snippet on the last page of the business section.
I also just checked what you mentioned in the archive, and most of those papers that bashed it are from the other end of the state, so I don't read them.
Although, I do agree it was a bit of a bad choice. In additon to the reasons you cited, Blago isn't entirely to blame. The state congress knowingly passing it despite 1st Amendment problems are just as guilty in this case.
I almost forgot about Blarg.

I live outside of Chicago, and the article in question is in the small video game section covered in the weekend section. He has done more though to harm Illinois than any other Politico in recent history.

Hey, Gov. Ryan did plenty of damage to Illinois as well, but Roddy boy has definitely done his fair share. Unfortunately, Judy Baar Topinka (the Republican candidate of `06) was more clueless than Blagojevich, and I frankly don't trust today's breed of Republican. Sometimes it's better to go with the devil you know.
