So the Xbox live page tells me everythign I need to know about live but if the free silver version dose game and system patching.

That's the minimum, you have to have some kind of storage device. And when you mean hard drive, the initials are HDD. I was wondering why you'd think you'd need an HDTV to play online...

ssoorryyyy been using HD for hard drive for 8 ish years HDTV is HDTV :P

The official initials for it are HDD though, as in Hard Disk Drive. HD is also a type of floppy disk, the 1.44MB HD DS (High Density Double-Sided).
